Lingerie Brands I Like That Actually Carry My Size

So, you’ve probably noticed that I have big boobs. They’re not the biggest. They’re not cartoonishly large. But, they are large for my frame, which gives me an odd bra size that can be hard to shop for.

I bought lingerie like a mad woman for the first few years of my escort career. At one point I think I owned more than 40 sets. In the last year, I tried to use only things I already owned, gifts from sweeties, or second-hand/vintage clothes for my photo shoots. I also pared down my collection a bit, getting rid of some sets that no longer fit or that I don’t like anymore. So, last year I only bought one lingerie set!

As I think about getting some lingerie again, I reflected on how having an odd bra size has affected how I shop for lingerie. I love receiving lingerie as a gift, but many of the more popular brands don’t carry my size, so it can be tricky!

How Do Bra Sizes Work Anyways?

Most guys know they like boobs, but they don’t know how the sizes work. They swim in a sea of numbers and letters and say “Yay boobs!” when they see them in or out of a bra. You don’t need to know how sizing works to appreciate a nice pair of breasts but, knowledge is power!

American bra sizes are comprised of a number and a letter, like, 32G, for example.

The number part of a bra size reflects the rib cage circumference just below the breasts. So, my rib cage is generally a 32, but it can also fit a 30 at times. This is on the smaller size for bras, especially in large cup sizes.

The cup size represents the difference in inches between the rib cage size (the number) and the fullest part of the breast. In general, each cup size represents an additional inch difference.

Another fun concept when it comes to bra sizes is “sister sizes.” I wear a 32G most often. Sometimes a 32F works for me depending on the brand. But, I can sometimes also fit a 34F or a 30H, because those are the “sister sizes” to 32G. Because of how the ratio of rib cage to cup size works, the cup of a 34F and 30H are relatively the same size as 32G. There are slight differences in brands, just like jeans. So, sometimes the sister size is the better option.

To make things even more fun and interesting, there are slightly different cup-size letters used for US, UK, and EU bras. So, for US sizes I am generally a 32G. In the US this is also sometimes called a 32DDDD or 32DDDD/G. In EU cup sizes this is only referred to as 32G. In UK sizes, this would be 32F. So, I own bras with sizes ranging from 30E to 32H depending on brand-size variations, and which country it comes from.

In Japanese sizes, a G cup is called an I cup. They also measure the underbust in centimeters, not inches and write the size with the letter first. So, my Japanese bra size might be I70 or H70.

My Bra Size Journey

Before I started escorting, I never really bought proper lingerie. I had a few cute things here and there, but they were silly or cheap items that were more for costumes. I wore what I now know were ill-fitting bras that didn’t give me support. When you go to a store like Victoria’s Secret, they will measure you, but if you wear a size they don’t carry, they’ll tell you a less-than-correct size so you’ll be more likely to shop there. So, for the longest time, I thought I wore a 34D.

It wasn’t until I started escorting that I even set foot in a real lingerie store. When I lived in Williamsburg about 15 years ago, I always drooled over the windows of a lingerie shop called Brooklyn Fox. When I lived in the area, I wouldn’t even set foot in a shop like that because I assumed I couldn’t afford it.

When I went back to visit New York about seven or eight years ago, shortly after I started as an escort, I went straight into the shop because I finally had money (and reason) to buy the beautiful pieces I had lusted over.

They looked at my boobs and said “Wow, you’re not a 34 D. You’re at least a DD, probably larger.” They didn’t do a full measurement but got me set up with my first “real” lingerie set which was this grey one by Else lingerie.

A few months later, I went to A Revelation in Fit in Oakland and got a proper fitting. I made them measure three times to see if it was truly correct that I was a 32G. They also explained to me more about how lingerie should fit. I couldn’t believe that I had been wearing such ill-fitting bras daily for my entire life!

My Bra Size Conundrum

It’s hard to tame these titties! They need a lot of support. And, strangely, 32G and 32F are not very common bra sizes. It’s a bit easier to find well-fitting F and G cup bras with larger band sizes, but not much. Many lingerie companies don’t make sizes above a D or E cup.

And, that’s not a complaint! It’s understandable. Cora Harrington, who used to be known as the Lingerie Addict, but has now moved on to bigger and better things, has a great thread on X/Twitter about this. When lingerie companies expand to larger sizes, it’s not just one new size they are making. It’s eight or more. Each combination of rib cage and cup size results in a whole new pattern that needs to be made.

So, as Cora mentions in her thread, expanding to a few larger sizes could double the amount of product a relatively small company needs to make.

I also have a hard time finding bralettes or less specifically sized bras that fit. If the cup fits, the band is too large. If the band fits, the cup is too small. And forget it when it comes to cute bodysuits or baby dolls. It needs to have a proper bra top with cup sizes or it may look ridiculous.

The well-known luxurious lingerie brand Agent Provocateur currently only offers two bras in my size out of its robust collection. Honey Birdette, another creator of lingerie popular with escorts, generally carries my size, but I have become a bit disillusioned with their unpredictable quality.

In general, I am a practical girl. I love beauty and luxury, but spending more than a couple hundred dollars on a lingerie set isn’t really my thing. So, there may be more high-end brands that carry my size that I am not fully aware of. The following are some of my favorite brands that reliably carry my size, have unique styles I enjoy, and have reliable quality.

1. Curvy Kate

Curvy Kate is a specialty lingerie brand that only sells bras for larger boobs. Their lines contain D through O cups. I have several of their sets. They are very reliable in quality and have a variety of styles each season. They also have a more sexy/luxurious line called Scantilly that’s on the saucier side. I appreciate that many of their bodysuits have actual bra cups and use bra sizes instead sizes like small, medium, and large. They have everything ranging from comfy t-shirt bras to sexy bedroom lingerie. Take care when ordering from here, though. They are a UK-based company and use UK sizing, even on the US version of the site. Be sure to use a size conversion chart to make sure you’re ordering the correct size.

2. Playful Promises

I love this shop! They have a wide range of sizes and a wide range of brands available. They have a special section on the site just for lingerie in the DD+ range. Some of my favorite brands featured on the site that carry my size include Deja Day, Wolf & Whistle, and Playful Promises’ own line. They also sell Curvy Kate on the site, but may not have all the styles featured on the Curvy Kate website. They are another UK-based company, and they have easy US shipping (and returns!)

3. Adina Reay

Adina Reay is another UK lingerie company. However, it is quite different from Curvy Kate or Playful Promises. It is a smaller company founded by Sharon Lake, who was fed up with the lack of availability of nicer lingerie for people with larger busts. They make gorgeous styles for sizes from 28DD to 38G. They carry my absolute favorite set—Fran—which I have in three colors!

4. Pour Moi

For some reason, the UK seems to have a monopoly on busty lingerie. Pour Moi is a lingerie company founded by an accountant who wanted to offer lingerie with wide size ranges that look great on every size body. They carry a large range of lingerie, swimwear, and nightwear. For some reason, their cup-sized body-suits are the only ones that fit me properly in terms of both boob and torso size.

5. Anita

These titties need something strong when it comes to exercise. I’ve tried so many different sports bras over the years. I used to shove my boobs into too-small compression sports bras from the running company CW-X because I had no idea where to look for high-impact sports bras in my size. I tried some bras from Lululemon, but none even came close to fitting. Finally, a godsend came in the form of Anita. I saw they had a sports bra at the amazing Oakland lingerie store Revelation in Fit. It was in a rather boring color, beige, but I asked them about it. I tried it on and it was like magic! Finally, something that can tame these titties when I want to jump around. It was an Anita Air Control Deltapad sports bra. Now I have it in almost every color!

This is not a website but an in-person store with locations in Oakland and San Francisco. They specialize in helping their clients find bras that actually fit. I have discovered my real bra size here, as well as a few of my favorite brands including Curvy Kate, Panache, and Anita. It’s really great to visit their store and find your exact size in a brand you haven’t heard of before. I also discovered my favorite stockings, Kixies, here!

I feel like Panache specializes more in comfy, everyday styles, but every once in a while they do have some really sexy sets. Large-bust people also tend to rave about their sports bras but I haven’t tried them yet. They carry sizes from C to O cup, and are another UK brand that specializes in amazing lingerie for bigger boobs.

8. Marlies Dekkers

I’ve had a few sets from Marlies Dekkers over the years, including one of my favorite bathing suits. They have a section on their site for D-G cup bras and another section specifically for unpadded bras that are larger than a D cup. They have a range that sticks around all the time, and each season there are a few new and exciting looks. I haven’t bought anything from here for a while, but when I used to shop there, they sent out an interesting Marlies|Dekkers magazine with each purchase that had some pretty interesting articles.

9. Simone Perele

Simone Pérèle lingerie is not only gorgeous but so comfortable. I only have one set but I definitely want more. Some of their styles only go up to a D cup, but they have a lot that goes larger – up to an H cup. Simone was originally a corset maker in the 1940s who wanted to make comfortable but stylish undergarments. The business still does just that, and the family still runs it.
