Dreamy Realness in LA: Alex Kacha

Alex Kacha is a photographer based in LA who is known for their dreamy aesthetic and sensual vibes. I’ve worked with them two times. Once in 2018 and once in 2021. According to their site, their goal with their photography is to photograph someone’s true essence. In addition to their photo offerings, they also have a Patreon for aspiring photographers and fans.

The first time I went down to LA with my friend Gemma Paradise. We took some photos together in addition to our individual photo shoots. We got to shoot at Alex’s studio which was full of different sets that were perfect for their ethereal style. Their shooting style is efficient, yet also creative and encouraging. Gemma and I used makeup artist Alondra Excene for our hair and makeup.

These are some of my faves from that first shoot. I love how Alex was able to combine their style with the more vintage vibes I was doing at the time. The light blue lingerie is a set from Marlies Dekkers. I found the bra at Revelation in Fit in Oakland, one of my favorite bra shops. They didn’t have the matching panties and I couldn’t find them anywhere online. Luckily their SF shop had one left so I went into the city to get it.

The second shoot was in Oakland when they came to visit in 2021. That shoot was in a lovely loft studio with a huge window.

These are a few of my favorites from the second shoot in 2021. A bit of Delphine trivia is that the red dress was actually a lovely hand-me-down from Gemma! The white lingerie is from Adina Reay. After this shoot the zipper on the panties ripped, and I didn’t get it fixed until earlier this year, when I wore that set again for a shoot I did in LA in March.

I haven’t shot with Alex in a while, but definitely have them on my list of photographers I’d like to work with again sometime in the next few years!
