Photographers I Adore: Wondra - Curvy, Hairy, SF Bay Area Muse

The first time I saw Wondra’s work on social media I knew I wanted to shoot with them. Their work has a certain hazy, dreamy, and sensual quality that I adore. The way Wondra works highlights the subject’s natural beauty in a thoughtful way.

I wasn’t surprised to learn that they started their photography work with self-portraits, because that was one thing that first drew me to their work. Wondra’s photos mainly focus on queerness, kink, and intimate connections, which lends itself perfectly to the types of photos I like to use. I also appreciate that Wondra’s photo style is great for the makeup and hairstyles I can do on myself. While I’m not an expert, it’s fun to get a little creative in that realm too.

I’ve only had the chance to work with Wondra twice so far, but you should definitely expect more!

The first time we worked together was in February of 2023 when Wondra came to Oakland. They had found a super cute rental with a unique kitchen and cute bedroom.

I had an idea for a housewife who was making cupcakes, but she was also kind of mad, but in a sexy and dominant way. Wondra was super down to have fun with this idea. There was a lot of cupcake smashing (in my mind it was an analogy to ball smashing lol), and rubbing frosting and crumbs all over my boobs. I love the way they got some really cool detail shots of the cupcake on my heels.

We did a second look that day of me in this cute gingham lingerie.

In 2024, I traveled up to Portland to shoot with Wondra on their home turf. We had a lot of fun at this little cabin that had unique wooden built-in features and plenty of natural light.

A dear sweetheart had gotten me this blue dress and I was excited to use it in photos, finally. Wondra’s misty, intimate style was perfect for this relaxing and romantic cabin setting.

The cabin had this Franklin stove that was so cute and perfect for a plaid lingerie set I had. For 2024, I had committed to not buying new lingerie. Everything I used in photo shoots this year was either a gift, vintage or thrifted, or something I already owned. Except for this set. It’s the only lingerie I bought all year! I’m very proud of myself.

A sweetheart had also gifted me this cool chain garment that I thought would go perfectly with some plain black lingerie. Earlier in the day, I found this bouquet with colors that went perfectly with the vibe of the house at a flower shop. Most of the photos in this look were taken in the bathroom but you can’t tell because of how beautiful and unique the room was. It had a velvet shower curtain and gorgeous light from a floor-to-ceiling window.

Another gift I received this year was these cool assless chaps. I knew that would go perfectly with a more domination-themed look that included a strap-on and some other BDSM accouterments as accessories. I was really happy with how perfectly Wondra captured the mood I was going for with this look.
